The UK Gambling Commission recorded a regulatory settlement with Skill On Net Limited, the licensee behind playojo.com, on 23 May 2023: GBP 305,150 for social responsibility and anti-money laundering failures (all paid to socially responsible causes). The regulator's own page for the licence no longer lists the action.
The terms version that playojo.com served to our research session names the Malta Gaming Authority as regulator and lists the United Kingdom among the countries where real-money play is not permitted, while the UK Gambling Commission register lists playojo.com and playojo.co.uk under the operator's casino licence. Which terms apply depends on the visitor's country; the UK-player terms were not available to us.
After 6 months without access the terms allow a monthly inactivity fee (5.00 in GBP/EUR/USD, higher in some currencies) deducted from the balance; an insufficient balance is reset to zero. The casino says it will try to email 30 days before and may waive the fee.
The terms cap cash-outs at EUR 10,000 per 30 days (larger wins are paid in monthly instalments of EUR 10,000) and EUR 5,000 per transaction; jackpot payouts of GBP 50,000 or more may need 14 extra days.
Withdrawals go back to the method used to deposit, and ID, address, payment-method ownership and source-of-funds documents must be approved before any withdrawal is processed.
