SmarterCasinos is an independent research and verification platform for online casinos, with a focus on crypto casinos. Our goal is simple: give you the facts you need to understand a casino before you put money in – and be honest about what we don't know.

Who is behind SmarterCasinos
Torben Noé is the founder and editor of SmarterCasinos. He is responsible for what is published: he approves each casino profile before it is first published and moderates the player reviews. The research itself is compiled with automated tools and checked against the casinos' own documents and the regulators' registers. The site is run by him as a private individual; a company is being set up (see the legal notice).
He does not set scores by hand: the Smarter Score is calculated by the locked scoring engine from the recorded facts and their evidence, and a casino's commercial relationships are never an input. How facts are sourced, dated and corrected is written down in our editorial policy.

What we do
- Research. We look at the things that matter before a deposit: who operates the casino, which licence it claims and whether a regulator's register confirms it, its terms, payment methods, identity check (KYC) policy, bonus terms and restricted countries.
- Show our sources. Every fact comes with its source, an evidence level – for example "verified", "stated by the casino" or "reported by players" – and the date we last checked it.
- Verify. When our key checks are complete and current, a casino is marked Smarter Verified. That means key information was checked against identified sources. It does not mean the casino is safe or recommended.
- Make uncertainty visible. Where something could not be verified, we say so instead of filling the gap. A Data Confidence rating shows how strong the evidence behind a profile is, and a Smarter Score is only shown when enough verified data exists.

What we don't do
- No paid rankings. Positions, scores and verification cannot be bought, and warnings are never removed for money.
- No fake tests. We have not deposited, played, completed KYC or withdrawn at the casinos we describe, and we don't pretend otherwise. If we ever measure something ourselves, it will be documented and labelled as such.
- No affiliate links at launch. We currently have no commercial relationships with any casino. See our Affiliate disclosure.
- No targeting of vulnerable players. We never address people who have excluded themselves from gambling, and we don't promote gambling where that is prohibited.
Independence
Our research data is kept separate from any commercial data. If we enter commercial agreements in the future, they will be clearly labelled and our scoring system will still not read them. A casino's payments to us can never change its facts, verification, Data Confidence, score or watch-outs.

For operators
Operate a casino we should review? You can submit it for review. Every submission is reviewed under the same methodology, and submission does not guarantee listing.
Player reviews
Each casino page has a "What players report" section. Reviews are written by visitors about their own experience, read by a person before they appear, and shown with the nickname, rating, category and date. They are a second, independent layer next to our research: the Smarter Score never changes because of a review, and a review is never presented as something we verified. We remove abuse, advertising, spam and personal data about others – not criticism. Averages are shown only once a casino has at least five approved reviews.
Community
Updates about new and re-checked casino profiles, and notes on our research, appear in our official Telegram channel (opens in a new tab). We never ask for money, deposits, wallet details or private keys on any channel – if someone does in our name, it is not us.
